DIRECTOR OF SALES AND MARKETING

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director of Sales and Marketing (DSM) is responsible for the revenue growth of the company, leading, managing, and creating accountability on the Sales and Marketing team. The DSM designs, implements, and oversees the Sales Process with the goal of acquiring new customers and growing relationships with existing key customers. He or she oversees the marketing plan, ensuring growth efforts are in alignment with company goals, and establishes pricing to ensure company profitability and competitive performance in the marketplace.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Design the Sales Process and train all team members on proper customer identification, qualification, engagement, and use of CRM.

  • Manage the CRM Sales Pipeline to ensure all elements of the Sales Process are followed.

  • Implement marketing strategies to grow sales and company goals.

  • Manage the hiring, staffing and continued growth of the sales and customer service team.

  • Train, develop and mentor team members on products, processes, and selling techniques.

  • Monitor and coach sales activities focusing on the customer experience.

  • Design and track KPIs as a tool for identifying opportunities and rewarding successes.

  • Build a goal-oriented, proactive sales culture that creates and identifies opportunities.

  • Perform regular joint sales calls with key customers and work closely with strategic accounts.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the Operations team to ensure an industry-best customer experience.

  • Track and interpret sales figures and reporting.

  • Ensure members of the sales team have the necessary resources to achieve goals.

  • Build a culture of continuous learning focused on products, production, and industry trends.

  • Participate in planned events and product demonstrations to foster vendors relations.

  • Attend courses, conduct training sessions, and practice scripts and dialogues with team.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field, or equivalent experience in sales leadership.

  • Experience:

    • 4 to 6 years of sales management/sales manager experience with a proven record of success.

    • Knowledge of supplier/distributor business model preferred.

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, inspire, and mentor a professional sales team.

  • Expertise in sales CRM, sales process automation, and marketing.

  • Excellent computer skills and comfort working in different software applications.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and written.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Motivated to achieve results through people.

  • Skilled listener and communicator able to adapt to different personalities.

  • Strong sense of urgency but unwilling to sacrifice quality.

Monday – Friday | 8 am – 5pm | $120k - $130k annually
